During her Master's studies in the class of Prof. Hedwig Fassbender at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt am Main, Jana Baumeister could already be heard at the Rheingau Music Festival as Grazia in Scarlatti's "La Colpa, il Pentimento e la Grazia", as well as at the Frankfurt Opera. In 2013 she sang the role of Lucile in the premiere of Paul Leonard Schäffer's "Büchners Frauen" at the Maifestspiele Wiesbaden. In 2014 followed her debut on the lake stage of the Bregenz Festival as 1st Boy, to which she returned in 2017 as Frasquita in the new production of "Carmen". Further guest engagements took the soprano to the Landestheater Salzburg as Pamina, as well as to the Landestheater Detmold as Siébel.
In 2016 Jana Baumeister won 1st prize at the Bundeswettbewerb Gesang Berlin and at the same time received the special prize of the Bach Foundation. (For funding enquiries please click here.)
The soprano is a scholarship holder of the "Richard-Wagner-Verband", received the scholarship of the Catholic Study Foundation "Cusanuswerk" and was also included in the sponsorship of the Sparda Bank Nuremberg and the Frankfurt Bach Concerts.
With works of the classical and romantic repertoire Jana Baumeister established herself as a sought-after concert singer. Collaborations with the Duisburg Philharmonic Orchestra, the Staatskapelle Berlin, the Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra, the Musikkollegium Winterthur, the Jena Philharmonic Orchestra and the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg, among others, have shaped her musical career.
The soprano is a regular guest at the Meistersingerhalle Nuremberg, the Tonhalle Zurich, the Alte Oper Frankfurt, the Frauenkirche Dresden and works with conductors such as Paolo Carignani, Will Humburg, Daniel Cohen, Giuseppe Finzi, Helmuth Rilling and Axel Kober.
